About me

My name is Georgie, and I’m the childminder behind Learn and Grow Childminding. We are a small childminding setting based in Bilton, Rugby, UK. I mainly work alone but enjoy taking the children for lots of playdates with other friends.

I have a BA qualification in Working with Children, Young People and Families (2008) and 15+ years of experience working with children and families in many different settings. I am also a mum to two children age 3 and 5.

My safeguarding and first aid training is updated regularly.

About the setting

The setting is designed to be a home from home, with all the home comforts you’d expect: sofas for snuggling to read, rugs for stretching out to play, and cushions to throw in a home made den. This home has the bonus of being Ofsted registered and inspected and following the Early Years Foundation Stage (the English government’s targets for the learning and development of children under 5).

We weave the educational framework into our day-to-day play, giving children the chance to learn and develop at their own pace. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to children’s education which appreciates that children enjoy learning in many different ways - so we use many forms of education: song, dance, art, performance… anything that sparks children’s natural curiosity.
